Shorebirds Not Today in Pierce

I got out this morning for a couple hours after a nap after taking Caroline to SEATAC for a 5:30 AM flight back to Fullerton. We had a nice visit.
First stop was Levy Pond, not even a Killdeer seen. Then I tried the mitigation by the RR tracks off 70th but they’ve put a wire across the entrance road and I chose not to walk in. Then off to 56th Street Stormwater Ponds, and again not evan a Killdeer. There was a cool Pied-billed Grebe nest ?floating on the far pond, and the female bufflehead remains.

Then I tried to find a way to see the Gay Road mitigation, but they’ve put up a fence, and I spent some time looking for a way to view from Pioneer, but with the narrow shoulder, traffic, and distance it’s just nor worthwhile.
Last stop was Gog-li-hi-ti where I was hopeful because water/tide levels seemed perfect, but again nada.
