Today Will Brooks texted us to tell us he had a Marbled murrelet on the Pierce side of the delta, and I got Bruce to chase it with me immediately. This morning I had walked the Chamber’s Bay beach access without finding much new, but this afternoon was more rewarding.
Immediately on getting to the lookout Bruce set up his scope and had the MAGO immediately along with 2 Greater yellowlegs, both FOY Pierce birds for me. The MAGO was distant but identifiable with its large size and long upturned bill. While there a flock of Dunlin flew onto a small island of mud, and then just before we left 26 Brant geese flew in from the Pierce side and landed. 4 FOY species on a single trip is really good this time of year.
