Today Ron and Linda Bahr joined Kay and me for a trip to Wiser Lake and Birch Bay. It was windy, fairly cold, and this was in addition to a birding outing, a time to talk, be together as friends and just have fun. At Wiser Lake we struggled with access to see the large number of ducks there, but I was able to see a couple of Eurasian Wigeon far across the lake in a huge flock of mixed ducks, including AMWI, PINT, RNDU, AMCO, and others.
At Birch Bay it remained windy and stared to rain. Highlights there were a good flock of Brant, and one Black scoter, both FOY species for me.
