I left Kay to sleep in this morning and drove to the Messalonskee Lake Boat Launch in Belgrade today, hoping to see a Swamp Sparrow, maybe some migrating warblers. Turned out to be very slow there, no SWSP, no warblers, and no waterfowl. I headed back to Oakland to check out the feeders on the Tukey Road, a place I used to bird when visiting Dad many trips, but the feeders were not stocked, and not much was happening there either. Headed back to camp, and it looks like the White-throated sparrows are back in numbers. Small flocks all around Bill’s house this morning. Tomorrow we head south toward Boston for our morning flight on Tuesday.
